December 11th: Julefilm

Christmas movies, there are just so many, where do I begin? Sometimes you just need to snuggle up on the couch and watch a Christmas movie. If you live in the U.S maybe you do it every night during the month of December with ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas. Which is FREAKING AWESOME by the way, only a little bitter that I can't partake in this until later this December. But at least I have my Julekalendar every night! :)

You have your Christmas classics, your Christmas favorites and you Christmas newbies every year. The one Danish Christmas movie that is drilled into my mind from childhood has got to be "Far Til Fire: Julebal I Nisseland". The "Far Til Fire" movies in general are just classic (my generation) Danish movies. They still keep trying to make new movies but we all know that nothing will compare to the golden oldies.

On another note have you ever seen a sad Christmas movie? Like a Christmas movie that ends badly? No? Me neither. Maybe that's what I love about them? They aren't heavy movies that make you question tiny aspects of your life, they are just light and fun and will put you in a happy cheerful mood. I decided I would put together a little list of some of my favorite and absolutely amazing Christmas movies.

The Essentials:

  1. Love Actually (will forever be #1)
  2. Elf
  3. Charlie Browns Christmas
  4. Polar Express

For the kid inside of you:

  1. Elf (yes its on here twice because this movie should be enjoyed more than once every December)
  2. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas
  3. Santa Claus 1, 2 & 3 (movie marathonnn)
  4. Mikey's Christmas Carol
  5. Mikey's Once Upon a Christmas

For the classic in you:

  1. Miracle on 34th Street
  2. It's a Wonderful Life
  3.  A Christmas Story

For a laugh:

  1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
  2. Home Alone
  3. Four Christmases
  4. The Holiday

So snuggle up, get some hot coco and popcorn and watch one of your favorites. Happy movie night :)

Happy December 11th!

Don't forget to check back in tomorrow!

Love Camille
