I am truly impressed with Lasses balance for these handstands and tree pose because he doesn't exactly practice his balance regularly. Maybe one day I will actually be able to convince him to come to a yoga class with me!
This was our little tent which we slept in for our two nights in Nantucket. We had a nightly ritual of killing all the mosquitos that managed to get in, in the 20 seconds that we opened up the tent and literally leaped in and shut it again.
Soaked after the annual Fourth of July Water Fight on Main Street in Nantucket. The water was truly ice cold.
In honor of it being a week since this wonderful adventure took place (and I finally found time to get this post together) here is a photo filled post from our day at Disneyland Paris! It was such a magical day and even with a couple of bumps in the road it could not have been more perfect! Currently working on putting together a video of clips from the day because really I just wanted to bring everyone with us to experience all the magic that Disney brought us.
For those of you that know me, know that I have such an incredible love for all things Disney. It was an incredibly big part of my childhood, as it is for many, with the movies and the music and the magic. It is something I will most likely never grow out of. I mean, I'm 21 years old and yet I still felt like a little girl again, running around giddy all over the park. Going to Paris for this adventure is something that I will never forget and the memories will be some that I will cherish forever. And getting to go with my best friend made it even more wonderful!
Stay tuned for the Disney video to get more of a "follow along" of our day wandering the park, as well as a video (and blog post) of exploring Paris before our flight home Sunday evening. I took over 300 pictures this day, but decided I didn't want to go completely over-board with this post, so this collection of pictures are just some of my favorites. The video will show a lot more of the park and the mind blowing fireworks that ended a magical day.
The day is almost here! The countdown for this trip has been so real but at the same time I can't believe that it's already here! Tomorrow I am lucky enough to be heading to Paris with one of my best friends for the weekend! We've talked about going on this trip for what feels like ages now and I'm so glad that we got our s*** together and actually planed it. It's going to be amazinggg, I'm so excited and I can't wait to share it with you!
So I decided I would write a short post about what I packed for the weekend. More specifically, we are traveling with only carry-ons (obviously), and it's not always easy to figure out what to bring and what no to bring. Especially during this time of year where the weather literally changes numerous times a day... Which has made it hard for me to back for this trip, which inspired me to share what I ended up bringing - so that hopefully you can have some inspiration as to what to bring for your next spring trip (and it doesn't need to be Paris, of course).
- travel size toiletries
- sneakers and 1 extra pair of shoes
- leather jacket and rain jacket
- 2 t-shirts
- 3 pairs of pants (not necessary but im indecisive)
- 2 tops
- 1 tank top
- 1 nice sweater
- 1 warmer/cozier sweater
And as always the essentials for any trip:
- water bottle
- head phones
- chapstick and hand lotion (no dry hands here!)
- last but not least SNACKS!
Now this is something that can be used very generally, all depending on the time of year and destination. If you were doing something maybe a little nicer - whether it be a nice dinner or an event - then throwing a dress in there is a great idea and luckily that doesn't fill up too much room. Now if it was summer and warm, I would most definitely have like 2 dresses with me, at least 1, because it is just such an easy way to wear something cute, comfortable and cool.
We will be doing a lot of wondering and walking so that's why some simple pieces and sneaks it basically all we need. BUT the weather is like half cloudy/half sunshine and then possibility of rain so we have no idea and then it'll be cool in the morning and evenings and then warming during the day... So basically it'll be a guessing game and hoping we aren't too cold but also not carrying around all our jackets.
All for nowwww xxx
Over Easter break, my family and I took a little trip across the Atlantic to our cozy little summer home in little Mystic Connecticut. A vacation and a break, from well everything, was very much needed and we were very spoiled with the weather. Some windy days, but lots of sunshine and perfect, warm, spring degrees. This post is coming a week after I actually got back home from the US, because there is just so much going on right now and it's only going to escalate from here. Which will most likely lead to a lack of posts for the next coming month and maybe a little more. But I really wanted to share some things from this laid back trip. And emphasise that there will be so many awesome things coming to Candid Camille this Summer! But more on that later, for now, here are so some pictures and a little note on the trip.
Here's a little sneak peek of some of the snacks that i brought with me for the flight over, as well as some rice cakes (of course). You really never know what you'll get on the flight and the quality and wholefulness of the food isn't exactly great so I always like to bring some snacks along in case I get hungry.
One thing I was incredibly excited for, was to get my hands on some of the goodies that unfortunately aren't vastly available in the DK as they are in the US. Such as kombucha and these Eating Evolved Coconut Butter Cups. Now bucha, is something that I have been a fan of for the past couple of years and I love how it makes me feel and what it does for my body. And Health-Ade Kombucha is a brand that I hadn't tried yet and I am officially obsessed! I love their products and their values! They truly focus on providing the best product for their customers - which is something I highly appreciate and think should be highlighted.
The same for the Eating Evolved Coconut Butter Cups, I actually looked in Whole Foods for the original flavor as a starter, but maybe not surprisingly, they were sold out. BUT, I ended up saving these goodies and bringing them home to DK and after finally trying them, I'm in love! They're amazing! Lasse and I have enjoyed them this past week, mainly as study motivation (works great by the way), and he loved them too. Finding clean products that aren't filled with added refined sugar or all sorts of other crap, can be really difficult, especially if you want it to be delicious and easy to bring with you on the go. Personally, I think Eating Evolved is a great option for a little post dinner snack or if you are craving something sweet!
Getting to enjoy these goodies in sunshine is also pretty darn amazing!
A little example of a bowl that I had almost every single day for lunch... The veggies and proteins used, varied depending on left overs from the night before and what my body was craving that day. It was actually a great little reminder, that I need to prioritise spending a little more time and really making a good wholesome lunch. Because it makes me feel great, keeps me from constantly wanted to snack and it just makes me happy. So I really hope to really get better and making a solid lunch for myself on a daily basis. This is the only picture I actually have of my lunches, because the rest have been posted on my Instastories - so check those out to get a more daily look of what I eat (if you're interested ;) )
This bowl was a bunch of spinach at the bottom, left over pesto salmon, avocado, hummus, olive tapenade, leftover beets and a little sweet potato, and finally brussel sprouts.
There was also some down time to make some of the delicious toasted coconut bliss balls! It was a great opportunity to get them family tested and luckily they were a success. There was almost an argument for who would get the last one. So if you are looking for a great snack that can help kill that sugar craving and give your body some goods then you should give them a try. The recipe is in the highlighted link above.
Some pictures from our Italy ski holiday last week. Just got home last night and am feeling both grateful to be home but also missing the fresh mountain air... and the sunshine! Honestly these pictures say it all, this place is mind blowing and there is nothing better than amazing ski conditions, warm weather and straight sunshine (every day except our last, but we'll take that one bad day).
I did not take enough pictures of the food we ate but as you can imagine food being in Italy, it was amazing! Tried to make my way through an entire pizza one day but I was unsuccessful... and didn't feel to hot after it either, but when in Italy you have to eat pizza! But being too caught up in the landscapes and such, the idea of taking pictures of food seemed to have slipped my mind, so not many of my typical foodie pics in this post. :)
Just a little share from me to you this Sunday evening - now I'm going to take some cookies out of the oven and do some Integrative Nutrition work! And yes those two go perfectly together ;)
Last month it was Singapore, warmth (more like humidity), adventure and pool side. Now for February, I'm headed towards the complete opposite! Headed for some snowy mountains with hopefully a little bit of sunshine. "Vinterferie" (winter holiday) calls for a ski holiday this year in Italiaaaa! Yes, ladies and gentlemen we are headed to Italy and I wish you could all come with me. Seeing as that is not exactly a possibility, I will do my best to update Sea Salt & Poms as much as possible, so it will be almost like we are experiencing this adventure together.
Maybe you are heading on a ski holiday adventure yourself, and if you are then this might be helpful! There are a lot of things you need to remember to bring on these types of trips and it's not always easy to remember it all. So, I decided I would write a little post about some of the essentials. :)
- Jacket - it’s a necessity to stay warm.
- Ski pants - you know, just in case you loose your balance a little bit… a fall on your butt. Stay warm!
- Mittens/gloves - need to keep your little fingers warm, so double layer them with a thin layer (with the smart phone screen finger tips so you can take a quick pic without your hands being exposed) and then add another, big, fluffy layer with your mittens to keep out the snow
- Boots - for when you're not hitting the slopes - a little change of footwear to get out of those stiff ski boots for After-ski.
- Socks - whether your rocking ski boots or boot boots you're going to want some long, warm socks to keep your toesies warm (p.s pack a pair of fuzzy socks to lounge around in when you get back "home")
- Leggings - layers, layers, layers
- Hat - because helmet hair is not cute (yes, wear a god damn helmet… no one wants your brains all over the mountain and sometimes these things are not in your control. So protect yourself, if not for yourself for your family.)
- Headband - again helmet hair man, it's quite the bugger, plus it'll just help keep your hair situated and out of your face
- Sunnies - because sometimes the sun makes a break through and you'll want some shade
- Lip balm - I cannot emphasis this enough… just as your face will need lots of moisturizer after a long day skiing against cold air, so will your lips. This is a major essential. There is nothing worse than chapped, cracked lips on the 2 day that only gets worse as you go out every day.
- Passport - we're crossing boarders here, need your identification (as well as your insurance or medial identification card - cause you never know)
- Goggles - because eye sight is pretty essential when racing down a mountain, and snow will fly up in your face (whether it's snowing or not)
- Zip up - layers, layers, layers
- Patagonia - (or any other sweatshirt) for when you come back from a chilly day you'll be ready to snuggle up on the couch in front of a warm fire and a nice big sweatshirt is exactly what you need
Now you’re just missing your helmet, skis, boots, poles and a lift-card but then you are pretty much ready to go!
Thanks for reading!
