Glow from within. This will forever be my favorite little sayings. Not just because it sounds beautiful but it's true. Our skin is a great indicator of what we put in our bodies. So if you are experiencing a lot of breakouts and just aren't happy with your skin, then there are a bunch of different things you can do you naturally help clear it up. Today I'm going to share four drinks that I drink both every day and some for whenever I feel like my skin (and body) needs a little extra love. But it's not just about drinking these and then magically everything will be perfect. It's just as much about the foods you eat, your stress level, what's going on in your day and generally speaking your hormones. All our bodies are so different and some need to do more to care for their skin than others. But regardless of that, these drinks are great for everyone. Not just for clearer, healthier looking skin, but also for detoxifying your body! What I like about this, is that you can take some of these little tips and incorporate one or two (or all) into your daily routine and without even really thinking about it or focusing on it, you will be taking extra good care of your skin, by taking care of your within.
1. Water. Yep, that's right. Just plain old, clear water. Most people simply do not drink enough water. Water is not only incredibly important for normal healthy bodily functions, but it can make a world of difference in relation to your skin. Just drink more water. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that. And a side note for that... choose water instead of any soft drinks and you will most definitely see a difference. It doesn't need to be forever, you can just start small. I genuinely believe that baby steps, lead to success and sustainability. Just once in a while, more than you do now, instead of the soda, get water. And you can add berries, chia seeds, mint or lemon to your water to mix it up a bit. 2. Hot Lemon Water. I swear by this and I drink it every morning before I eat anything. All you do is boil some water and squeeze half of a lemon. Same concept, really not complicated, just simple but effective. This wakes up your system, detoxes and soothes your entire system, getting your day off to a good start. Starting the day healthy in this way, really also allows you to set the course for staying healthy for the rest of the day. By starting your day like this with a little mini detox, you are helping to clear up your skin without even having to think about it. 3. Lemon, Ginger, Collagen. Another little hot drink to enjoy in the morning, afternoon or evening. Whenever you feel like you need a little pick me up. All it is, is boiling water, half a lemon, maybe about a tablespoon of fresh ginger and then collagen. I use one scoop of Vital Protein Collagen Peptides, for this drink. They are both detoxifying and how those antioxidants to help your skin. Anything with lemon and ginger is always great! I always have both in my fridge at all times. BUT I add the collagen because one of collagens benefits is that it helps keep your hair, skin and nails healthy. So it's like a nice little boost of care that is tasteless in your lemon ginger drink. I don't have this everyday, but about two times week.
4. Turmeric Lattes or Golden Milk. This is an anti-inflammatory, immune-system boosting, power drink that is like giving your insides a giant hug of healing power. But this is another drink that's good for the whole body, but especially also your skin. Turmeric is another powerful ingredient to add to dishes and drinks when taking a little extra care of your skin! Remember, no one has "perfect" skin. There are so many things effecting our skin, that it makes perfect sense that it can't look even toned, glowing, pimple free 24/7. But by taking care of our bodies and by giving ourselves a little extra self-love, then we can do a lot.
