Good afternoon beautiful people!
I hope you are all having an amazing Saturday and will continue to have a wonderful weekend. I just wanted to take the time to write a quick little post about spending some time alone this weekend. Don't get me wrong, I love being with people and spending time with family and friends but at the moment I am taking some solo time at the summer house.
After my internship on Friday, I packed up the car and drove to the summer house. After driving through sunshine, then downpour, then sunshine, then downpour - my points is, some very strange weather. I stopped at the store to pick up some things for weekend. The store was filled with busy bees running around trying to get some shopping done before the weekend - hence, it was a little bit hectic but I had my list and focus on trying to be as efficient as possible. In and out in 10 minutes. Considering this is one of the larger food stores, I consider it pretty well done. Then I finally arrived to my little peaceful sanctuary for the weekend. Truthfully, the view here always calms me and I always feel so inspired when I'm here!
My evening started with a glass of red and a nice little FaceTime sesh with a friend a world away. As draining as technology can be, I could not be more grateful for it. If it weren't for technology it would have been impossible to keep as much in touch as I do with my best friends. We talked about life, our futures and our dreams, while I started cooking dinner. There is just something about connecting with an old friend who you can just pick up right where you left off - no matter how long it's been since you last spoke. Again, thank you technology.
The rest of my night was incredibly low key. Enjoyed my dinner, sent some emails, scrolled through social media and then I watch Lady and the Tramp in bed before I dozed off.
I woke up today to the sound of chirping birds, a slight breeze and sunshine. No alarm, just my body waking me up to start the day. This in and of itself was enough to reboot my system for the next couple of days. I always have an alarm because I'm always up at 6 to go to the gym. So getting to sleep in until my body was ready to start the day and then to wake up surrounded by beautiful nature was unbelievable. Like it truly is the little things in life that make me so happy.
My Saturday so far has consisted of a little brunch, some work, some organising, some day dreaming, some yoga and now some more writing. I haven't felt this de-stressed in the past three weeks than in this very moment. And even though I've been working and productive and not laying on the coach watching Netflix or reading a book - I feel calm and de-stressed. Which I would say is definitely due to the atmosphere. I am just meant to be surrounded by green and water to be at my best and more inspired.
Now this may sound like the most boring 24 hours to you but for some of you, you may be able to relate to how sometimes you just need to get away from the busyness of life. Just take a break from the busy city, busy life and be out in a calm, peacefully, quiet environment.
I can't wait to do so much more with candidcamille.com and soon with Candid Health! I am feeling more inspired and excited than ever before!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and stop by!
