What is a Health Coach? And what does it mean to me? Hopefully that statement above, alone, can clarify some thoughts about what a Health Coach is. But for the sake of being perfectly clear, I want to go a little deeper. This post can be seen, as a reference for you if you are looking to make a change in your life. Looking to make a change, but you don't necessarily know how to start. Which is perfectly understandable and there are so many people feeling the exact same way. Heck, I felt that way myself just a few years back.
Making life changes, especially moving to a more holistic, healthy way of living, can be intimidating. But that's ok, intimidating doesn't mean bad and if it wasn't intimidating then everyone would do it. Everyone can do it but not everyone really wants to do it. But something has brought you here or you've simply just arrived at a place in your life where you want to make a change. So don't let the thought of change intimidate you or keep you from reaching your health goals! Change, believe it or not, can actually be fun! Some of you may be laughing to yourself or rolling your eyes at this point, but that's what a Health Coach is there for. At least that's one part of our job. Health Coaches are here to help you kick intimidation and those nervous feelings in the butt and help to motivate you to accomplish your health and wellness goals! Whether it be food cravings, sleep, weight management, stress management, digestion or other personal health problems you may be dealing with, we can help you work with it.
It's all about you! Everyone is different. Even though many of us may be dealing with similar issues, we all have our own personal ways of dealing and managing them. Something that works for one individual, may not necessarily work for another. This is what we call bio-individuality and it is a key element of being a Health Coach. I am here to work with you, to figure out what works for you, not what works for everyone else. It's not about putting you on a low-carb or a low-fat diet, it's about helping you to understand what your body needs. We all need to listen to our bodies and it's something we can all learn to do. And that's exactly what I can help you do!
