One shot! Two shots! Three shots!
So for the past couple of months, since January actually, I have just been constantly on/off sick and it has been driving me absolutely crazy! Which is why when I then got sick again, a couple of weeks ago at the start of my exam period, I knew I had to make some ginger shots. My aunt and my mother both make their own and they have just been so good. And the times that I was sick these past couple of months, and was home in Copenhagen and was able to get shot from mama, I felt better after just one shot. I could literally feel a difference in my body. Now the being on/off sick for this long is something for another post because it's something I've been trying to get down to the bottom off - so stay tuned for that because it will be super relevant for everyone.
But, back to the shots. Ginger is a great anti-inflammatory and can be great for brain function, menstrual pains and/or nausea. This is only a start to some of the benefits of ginger, for example, it's also great for digestion and clear, healthy skin. Lemon is also great for this as well. And these two happen to be the ingredients of these ginger shots.
Honestly, having a little ginger shot in the morning with breakfast is such a great start to the day. It's refreshing and it just reboots the entire system and soothes the gut. Start the day taking care of your body and you will be set on the right path to continue to take care of your body all day long!
Give it a try and see what it does for your body! Especially if you feel a cold coming on, have an achy throat or just feel a little under the weather and need a little boost!
- Start boiling the three cups of water
- Peal the ginger and chop it up into thin pieces
- Put the ginger into the boiling water
- While the water boils, start juicing the lemon
- After the ginger has been boiling for about 5 minutes pour it into the bowl with the lemon juice and let it cool
- Once it's cool, seep to separate the ginger and put your "juice" into a sealed bottle and keep in the fridge
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Big handful of ginger
- 3 cups water
