Happy Monday loves! It is Monday evening here in Denmark and it has been one busy, busy day - which it almost seems to be everyday these days. Not a bad thing, though, usually means they are productive!
This past Friday was my 21st birthday and I got to spend Friday and Saturday enjoying the company of family and friends - and being spoiled with all the love.
I was woken up to the most wonderful birthday surprise by the sweetest Lasse who got up at 5:30 to decorate the apartment and make me breakfast in bed - which we ended up eating by candle light at the dinning table instead because pancake syrup and bed sheets don't go well together :) There were balloons, flowers and flags hanging all around the apartment and he had made a brownie cake because one must have cake for breakfast on their birthday... It was the greatest and sweetest surprise. No one has ever made me breakfast in bed before and he really went all in to make it a perfect morning before he had to head off to school.
After running to the gym for a quick sesh with a belly full of cake, eggs and fruit, my wonderful mama came to spend the rest of the day with me. We did a lot of walk to and from place where we consumed something. First salads from Green Neighbour at Aarhus Central Food Market and then to La Cabra for the best cappuccinos in the city. Followed by some champaign and snacks with my best friend who came from Cope, Lasse and my aunt, before heading out to dinner. I couldn't have dreamed of having my birthday be any other way - it was absolutely perfect.
Then came Saturday. Saturday from 12 to 5 Lasse and I held a little Open House birthday for family. The Open House idea, was because we don't live in a huge apartment so we couldn't invite everyone over for a sit down type thing, so we decided to leave the afternoon open for people to come and go as they pleased. It went nice and smoothly and it was such a great time - I love getting the family together, so I'm glad we took the opportunity to get people together.
This Open House idea, is actually really fun and a great way to be able to include everyone, even when you live in an apartment and don't have lots of space! :)
