Ready for a smoothie that you'll be excited to wake up too? This is the smoothie that'll get you through that muscle shaking, sweaty, morning workout. At least I use it as a source of motivation for my morning workouts.
It's got it all really. The greens, the vitamins, the protein, the fruits, the nutrition to keep you full and energised for your day ahead. Just a freaking great start to your day. The full part might come as a surprise to you and if you are like me then you are definitely thinking liquid meals do not keep me full for very long. That is what I originally thought but it's all about using the right, good, wholesome foods.
The picture above shows everything I put in my morning smoothie. I call it my go to because I use it both for after morning workouts or just breakfast before class or work. And it really will keep me full, energised and motivated for my day ahead. As well, I have a strong belief that if you start your day right, you will continue you on the positive path you have started your day on and you will continue to eat wholesome good foods.
The ways I get the smoothie to be filling and wholesome is by using protein powder, spinach, chia seeds, acai powder and Purasana's Breakfast Mix. Without these, its just fruit and that won't do you any good for long and most likely just give you a natural sugar rush which you will crash from. I'll be posting separate posts about the protein powder I use and the Purasana Breakfast Mix, to give more detailed explains of why I use them and what they are good for! So not only is this smoothie good for you but it's SUPER DELICIOUS!
- 1 Banana (frozen or unfrozen)
- Handful frozen strawberries
- Handful frozen raspberries & blueberries
- Big handful spinach/kale
- VegaOne Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp Purasana Breakfast Mix
- 1/2 tbsp acai (ish - i kind of wing it a bit)
- About 1/4 cup water (possibly more depending on your preference of thickness) - you can also use elderflower to sweeten the smoothie a little bit more, if you need more sweetness than just he acai and fruit!
Then all you have to do is blend it all together!
Thanks for reading!! I hope you try and love this smoothie as much as I do! xx
