Back in August, something super exciting happened for Aarhus - Aarhus Street Food opened!! If you have ever been to Copenhagen and grabbed some lunch at Copenhagen Street Food (PapirØen) then you get the idea - except just a wee bit smaller. Aarhus Street Food seems to still be developing, meaning that there are still some foodie shops on the way.
I've been to Street Food twice since it opened - which truly says something about my self control considering it's about a 4 minute walk from my front door... :) Once for lunch and once for dinner. For my first trip, my friends and I were immediately drawn to the Mexican Food "container" (I say container because they food shops are in shipping containers). A friend of mine and myself got the tacos and the other two got the sandwiches. The tacos were bomb! You get three tacos on gluten free corn tortillas, they normally do one beef, one chicken and one meat free - but you can be picky and ask for what you prefer (at least if they aren't crazy busy). I got two meat-frees and one chicken. Honestly, the meat-free one wasn't that great, kinda "lame", there really wasn't much in it. Mainly just cheese but still yummy because cheese is SO delicious! But the chicken... whole other story. Whatever spices they use, I would really love to know because wow so yummy and so flavourful! So definitely hit The Mexican Donkey container if you head over to Street Food!
My second trip, a friend and I headed over to NORD. Which is probably the "healthiest" option available at Street Food. They have salads and then a lot of different options involving rye bread. We both decided to get salad. Honestly, I can't entirely remember what was in it and I completely forgot to take a picture. So let me put it this way. It was definitely tasty, not bad at all but it also wasn't anything special either (clearly since I can't remember what was in it). But definitely still go check out NORD, they really do have some yummy lookin' stuff and it won't be the last time I head to their booth.
For the next time I head to Street Food, I think I will need to hit the "Duck It" container, only for the fries. Apparently the fries from this place are mind blowing and everyone is just raving about how good they are. SO, looking very much forward to trying some hyped fries - because I have a dangerous fries obsession :) Guilty as charged.
So if you live in Aarhus or every find yourself here, I highly suggest checking out Street Food. It's a fun experience, the communal seating is cosy and you are sure to find something delicious to chew on! :)
Have a beautiful day! XO Cam
