It took until the very end of August but Denmark finally had it's warmest day of the summer!! The weather could not have been more perfect - and being lucky enough to still have summer holiday made it even better. As you might have predicted the day consisted of a lot of sweating and then attempting to find ways to cool off.
My day started with Barre at Yo Studio - aka the first sweat of the day and let me tell you, it was a serious sweat sesh. Obviously not surprising because it was Barre but with the warm temperatures already in the morning it didn't take long for the studio to warm up. My coolant for this was my trusted smoothie bowl - literally a wellness girls BFF (especially in the summer). This is my perfect way to start the day and the clear blue skies and fun day ahead only made it even better.
After breakfast, some cleaning and chores it was finally time to head to the park! We packed a little picnic lunch, tons of water, some sunscreen and our trusted little picnic blanket. We had been to the beach the afternoon before so decided to head to the park instead. Both to avoid getting sand in all the wrong places but also to avoid the inevitable large crowed of people that would be heading to the beach on such a nice Friday afternoon. And as we had hoped the park was perfect! Lots of open space, nice calm surrounds and just the perfect stop for a picnic and afternoon of soaking up the sun!
Denmarks warmest day was concluded with delicious, cool gelato from Dolce Vita (aka the best gelato in Århus). Another wonderful part about Dolce Vita, apart from the ridiculously good flavours, is that is a decent walk from the apartment so you have a relatively clean conscience when you get there and also knowning that you have a walk back as well. Us health freaks enjoy rationalizing our indulging moments :) But it was the perfect way to end such a hot day!
