Another beautiful trip to Nantucket has come and gone. A trip filled with sandy toes, full tummies and mind blowing sunrises and sunsets. There is something incredibly special about the island of Nantucket. There are many reasons as to why this island has found such a tremendously special place in my heart and that is something that will never change.
Last summer I worked on the island while living with my best friend. It was a summer filled with many hours of work but it was also the moment I started to find myself, follow my heart and inevitably lead to making the biggest decision of my life so far. Which, presumably, is why this tiny island off the coast of the Northern East Coast will always be considered special.
This trip was a simple three day trip, simply to visit my best friend and have a couple days back in the place where we spent the majority of our summer last year. As I said above, there was beach time (during what felt like the hottest days ever - we basically had to hide in the shade after an hour of laying on the beach). There was LOTS of food, but not just food - delicious, like nothing you've ever tasted before food. Including ice cream from The Juice Bar, a dinner at Straight Wharf and, for the first time, trying a "morning bun" from Handlebar Cafe (a must try if you find yourself on Nantucket).
And then there was the sunset Tuesday and the sunrise Wednesday morning... The sunsets and sunrises on the island are utterly mind blowing. The colors send a stream of excitement through your body while always creating this soothing calm inside of you. I mean, we got some amazing pictures but they don't do the real thing justice. Sitting on that beach watching the sky change color over and over again is something that must be experienced.
Once again, as I wrote last year, Nantucket is a place one truly should experience in their lifetime.
With love Cam xo
