Sunday morning walks, before the city wakes up. One of the many things I love about Aarhus is that it's a small city. It has all of the perks and attraction of a big city, but it isn't just a black hole that you are bound to get lost in. You very quickly learn where everything is and where everything happens. Which has a lot to do with the fact that the center of Aarhus is one very collected spot, so if you're looking for something to do, it'll take you no time getting there and you'll know when somethings going on that you wouldn't want to miss.
To the point that it is a small city, it does have it's quiet moments, which is a love of mine. Well there is one time, every week, that the city truly sleeps. Which is Sunday morning.
I like to get up early and start my day, even on weekends. Sunday mornings, especially, if I am just home with nothing major to do, I like to go for a nice long walk along the water. And then sometimes I mix it up and walk through the quite, sleepy streets of Aarhus.
Sunday morning is the one time that the city is completely quiet. No fuss, no muss, no people biking around rushing to their next appointment, truly, no one is out (except for maybe the bakers). I met three people and two dogs on my walk, that was it. You see the city in a completely different light when you venture out into the world, as it still sleeps. This Sunday was even more wonderful, though, because the sun was shinning, the birds were singing and the air felt warmer. It was the perfect morning for a little inner city photography shooting.
It was a truly wonderful way to start my Sunday, especially when I came home to make banana spelt pancakes after! :)
