Taking good care of my skin has always been very important to me. I think most people desire to have clear, healthy skin but it's not always as easy at it may seem. Every's skin is incredibly different, so finding the right products and routines that work specifically for you, can be very hard. At a young age, I figured out that I was very sensitive to a lot of different products, simply because they were to harsh on my skin. This limited my use of a lot of products. Now, while I was young that didn't really matter because I did naturally have clear skin. Unfortunately, there comes a time where you really hit your teenage years. Both natural causes and just the many emotional rollercoasters you begin to experience all plays a roll in f**k'in with our skin. Which lead to me hitting a point where I actually started taking care of my skin. Obviously it has developed and evolved a lot over the years, with regard to how I actually take care of my skin but the one thing that has remain consistent is my face wash.
My mom introduced it to me, I believe when I was around 16 years old and I've been loyal to it every since. It's great for sensitive skin and I personally just feel like it works really really well. It nice and frothy and really just makes you feel all clean and renewed after using it. So this is my #1 tip for clear skin - take the time to find the right face wash! If you have one now thats, in your opinion, "ok but not great" then the next time you run out, go out and find something new! My personal preference for all of my skin care products is Origins. Personally I just feel like it works well, its gentle on my skin and it's very clear what's in the products that you are using daily.
Aside from the times of indulging in greasy or sugar foods, I notice my skin breaking out the most during stressful or pressured times. There really isn't much to do about either of these because once-in-a-while there has to be room for the greasy and sugary goods, and it is inevitable that there will be times in your life where you will be under pressure. Which is why for tip #2 I decided I would include the importance of pampering yourself! At least once a week I apply a face mask, I don't have a specific day that I do it, it's more of a "I need this" type of thing. Some days I do a face mask because it's either been a long day or a long week and I'm both mentally and physically tired. On other days it's simply to be good to myself and talk care of my skin. Now, I've used a lot of different face masks over the years but still come back to Origins as the brand I prefer. I do, on occasion, make my own face mask but lets me real, it's a lot fast and easier to just apply the already ready for you face mask. The two masks from Origins I keep on hand are the "Out of Trouble" and the "Clear Improvement". I find myself using the Clear Improvement more for when it's more of a self pamper moment and the Out of Trouble for when my skin is just freaking out. But again I think that's simply become a sort of habit for me, both products work super well. So before bed, face wash, then face mask, then moisturize and then crawl under the covers. You will already feel refreshed then after the whole routine but you will see and feel a difference the morning after. This three step combo is heavenly, and it's so quick and easy that everyone can find the time for it.
My third and most important tip is something so super easy and simple that you wouldn't believe it. DRINK WATER! AND LOTS OF IT! I start every morning by brushing my teeth and drinking a big glass of water, usually I have two big glasses before I even get to eating my breakfast. I am the person who always has a water bottle with her. I couldn't tell you how much water a drink because just like most things it varies from day to day. But I most definitely have well over the recommended "8 cups a day". Especially if I have a day were I'm home almost all day, water is a great way to keep you from snacking! Another little tip, is that sometimes you may think your hungry but you may actually just be thirsty. So if you find yourself with a seemingly unsatisfiable hunger then drink some water! But seriously, drink water!!
Well thats my 5 cents, thank you so much for reading! I hope you will find that some of these tips can help you too!
