Little snow flakes are slowly falling from the dark grey sky. Watching the snow through the windows with twinkle lights is incredibly calming. Especially because it's these tiny snow flakes that melt as soon as they touch the cool ground, that is not yet frozen enough for it to stick.
I needed a change of scenery and a Chai Latte today, along with a productive afternoon to get on top of my sh*t. If you are a student, then you know what November brings. Finals may not be until December/January but they start in November because of the prep. You may be a student who is on top of all the topics, all the reading, all the theories and models, etc. etc. but the very thought of one exam being the determinate of what grade you get, even more so, whether or not you pass, can cause a little stress in anyone. Maybe only a little stress for some but for others it's a lot of stress (insert pointing at self emoji).
But enough of this dreaded finals topic, I'm just venting now (hence the name coffee shop thoughts)... :)
What I love about posting up to do some work in a coffee shop is the people. People watching is a favorite of mine, I find it so entertaining and this is a perfect environment to do it. I've been sitting here now for over three hours and the people in here have already been circulated out three times. It's never the same type of person who walks in the door. The age range is everything from basically new born babies crying to elderly enjoying a cup of coffee and todays newspaper. Some are drinking tea and some are drinking coffee. Some are nibbling on cake and others are eating avo on rye. Some are chatting their lives away, while others are deeply invested into their phones or tablets. Some look incredibly serious, while others are laughing until they turn pinkish red. Every single person in this room has had a completely different day. I don't know but I just love how we are all so different, no matter how much we all try to "fit in".
