These past couple of days have been a whirlwind. The uni Fall break officially started for me on Thursday this past week and I couldn't be more excited to have an official little break from uni reading. Mainly just because after this week, we hit the ground running for exams in December... But for my own sake I am going to refrain from discussing this topic for now.
Most of my Thursday was spent at the hospital - the boyfriend was getting two screws out of his hip... Lets just say I'm happy as hell that it wasn't me. I am not the best hospital person, but I didn't faint this time which I consider a win, especially considering how well the operation went. The rest of Thursday and Friday were spent with his family, mainly consisting of eating yummy homemade food and resting with the "patient". But Friday we did go apple picking! I absolutely adore apple picking, it reminds me so much of my other "home". There will never be a better place than New England for Fall. Nothing compares to its beauty, its smell, its colours and just its general vibe. Fall in New England is probably one of the things I miss the most about the States. So apple picking on Friday was definitely a highlight of my weekend. It reminded me of childhood, my friends and family and it put me in the happiest mood. It warmed me up from the inside out, which is incredibly necessary with how freaking cold it has gotten here in DK... the wind and I are most definitely not friends (especially when biking up-hill to uni).
We drove home to Aarhus Friday night, in order to have a nice slow start to the morning before spending Saturday with auntie Bee and lots of delicious goodies! We had lunch at Aarhus Central Food Market. We gave Bangkoch a try and had some delicious Asian inspired lunch. We were even successful in finding a place to sit and even a table to eat at (after a little searching and moving around). Now, the dangers of having auntie Bee come and visit is that she happens to be the best cupcake baker in the game... She came with a giant care-package of mouth watering cupcakes for the "patient" and I was spoiled enough to get some beautiful flowers. But of course I ate cupcakes as well... Yes ladies and gentlemen I ate four cupcakes and yes it was over the course of maybe 8 hours... But they are just that good. No cupcakes will ever compare.
The rest of Saturday was spent with lazy couch snuggles. Which is basically what most Sunday consisted of. Well some laziness combined with some productivity. Re-organised and cleaned the kitchen, re-organised some closet space, did some laundry, did some more work on our B&W picture wall, and some grocery shopping. But I will gladly admit that I crawled into bed numerous times between these "productive" activities. :)
Another week starts tomorrow and I am ready for a little detox before we head to Berlin on Thursday! Sweet Dreams!
