Eating at college can be hard. The goal is to eat healthy nutritional meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner; but this is not always an easy task. You are constantly surrounded by the smell of buttery popcorn and cheesy pizza, it's borderline torture. The Freshman 15 is every new college girls fear and it is not something to be trifled with. As for my universities dining hall it is overloaded with carbs and lacking in fun healthy options. This was my initial mindset. If theres one thing I've learned from being at college, with regard to eating, it is that you just have to be creative.
I eat breakfast in my room and this was this morning creation. It's oatmeal made with fat free milk (in the microwave sadly, it's the only option) almonds, clementines, blueberries and bananas. I also like to drizzle on a little of my granola to give it a little crunch. Topping it off with a sprinkle of cinnamon and you have a healthy, energy packed breakfast that's a perfect brain food option.
I'll have more to come on surviving a healthy life style on campus and being creative with your meals on the health page that will be coming very very sooon!
